In 2013, Chinese President Xi Jinping set out the strategy of rebuilding the Silk Road Economic Belt and a 21st Century Maritime Silk Road known as the "The Belt and Road" initiative. The proposal caught the interest of the global community, and quickly gained the support of nations along the route. The initiative is a comprehensive framework for organizing multinational economic development and trade, which has inspired the creation of China Trade Week (CTW) was completely successful in many countries like UAE, Kenya, Iran etc.

After the great success of CTW in Kenya, the China Trade Week was encouraged by the “Africa Union” to expand its exhibition scope. As a result, the China Trade Week South Africa will take place from 25th – 27th June at the Gallagher Convention Centre Johannesburg in South Africa, along with Saitex and Big Seven.
The event is a unique opportunity for the local business community to meet Chinese manufacturers and take advantage of the event’s high quality, competitively priced products And It will bring Middle East business people face-to-face with Chinese companies, creating a unique opportunity to meet, talk and develop the foundations of trading and business relationships.
Welcome to the 3rd edition of China Trade Week Kenya.
After an amazing opening event last year, reporters in Kenya were thrilled with the response they received from the local community. As first event in Kenya they were expecting around 3,000 visitors, however they reached over 16,500. This proved that this platform was required to bring together high-end Chinese manufacturers from China, and business owners and entrepreneurs from Kenya.
SME's( SMALL MEDIUM ENTERPRISE) wanted to purchase high volumes of products from China but didn't want to risk doing business with faceless companies online, or didn't have the time or funds to travel to China. China Trade Week brought 150 certified manufacturers to Kenya to connect the business community of both countries. The feedback we received last year was highly positive, as many exhibitors secured business prospects or left with the intention of setting up a local office.
China Trade Week -- Ethiopia
The China Trade Week (CTW) series was inspired by the One Belt, One Road initiative and has so far been a huge success in the United Arab Emirates, Kenya and Iran. After the positive feedback of the Kenya trade show, CTW was encouraged by the African Union to expand its scope. As a result, CTW will be introduced to Ethiopia on 4th-6th July at the Intercontinentaladdis Ethiopia.
Slightly different from the other CTW projects, CTW Ethiopia will be a more focused B2B trade event. It will offer the perfect platform for the local business community to meet Chinese manufacturers and take advantage of the event’s high quality, competitively priced products. It will also bring East Africa’s business people face-to-face with Chinese companies, creating a unique opportunity to meet, talk and develop the foundations of trading and business relationships.
